Westie Waggle
What is the Westie Waggle?
The Westie Waggle is a kid-powered FUNdraiser. Kids collect donations from parents, neighbors, and relatives. Then on the day of the Westie Waggle, ALL students, regardless of amount raised, come out by grade levels to the back car rider loop and run, wiggle and waggle around the track and then finish up with some dancing with our awesome DJ! Students are encouraged to wear a school appropriate costume, dress in blue and yellow, or Westie Spirit Wear and bring your "waggle-ing" shoes!! Parents are encouraged to join us (please check in at the office) for Waggling! Grade level times will be posted on our website and facebook page.
The first Westie Waggle was held in 2010!! In some years we utilized the “*-a-thon” companies but found we ended up paying high fees. This year, each family will be able to set up their own fundraising page. If every student raises just $25, our donations would top $15,000!
Proceeds from past Westie Waggles have supported large-scale school projects - programs that encourage physical activity for our students, purchasing Promethean Boards for classrooms, water bottle filling stations, increasing technology in the classrooms, and supporting our classroom and specialty teachers with the resources they need to implement programs that enhance our students’ academic experience. The money raised by students for Westie Waggle is used by students every single day. In the coming years, the PTO is focusing our fundraising efforts on supplementing field trip costs and improving our community.
Active kids learn better! Let's help them out!!
